Reviews about Gas Mart of Osakis

July 23, 2019, by Steve Anderson
It was late evening. I stopped at Gas Mart in Osakis to get fuel and saw the car wash. Instead of going inside and buying a code, I drove over to it and put a $20 in the DBA and it took it. I waited and waited. Nothing. So I went through the wash and returned to the station to ask for my change. The lady at the counter said she couldn't give me change the there is a sign out there to use exact change. Because the sign was noted, she didn't have to give me change and could issue me $12 of car wash credit. I told her that was the stupidest thing I've heard and she agreed. She also said not to use the car wash and wouldn't recommend it. I went back to the car wash to look for the sign she was talking about and in the dark taped nowhere near the keypad was a piece of paper that barley reads NO CHANGE. I called the next day to speak with the manager and she said it was basically a rip-off and the owner won't fix the DBA because why not? It takes people's money and he doesn't have to hear about it because the employees deal with angry customers asking for change they can't refund and all the owner does about it is instruct them to give a legal explanation which really isn't fair to his employees.. So why fix it? I felt sorry for the girls working there because they have to deal with this. I wanted to speak to the owner. I was furious over a $20 car wash. She took my name and said he would call me. The next day, I got a voicemail from the owner. I wish I could have kept it because it was sort of comical. He left a short message and I could tell he was ready to defend his giant rip-off contraption. I never called him back because I was over the whole thing. I realized this owner has a racket car wash and is making money off it and like a jackass: protecting it. It's theft and shady business. So why bother? Just like the girls working for him in the store (which are super friendly and do a wonderful job) said to stay away from the car wash. If I had more time, I would have written a letter to the City of Osakis and explain what he is doing. There is plenty of tourism in that area and they have plenty of power to do something about this weasel Doing bad business. Osakis is a beautiful town. My job was based for a while out of Alex and I almost moved there. Osakis is a BEAUTIFUL small town. It is unique but also reminds me of how Excelsior on Lake Minnetonka. It’s really a gem full of nice people and good business. People don't need to be taken advantage by this greedy owner.
